Jack London is best known for his animal stories, ‘White Fang’ and ‘The Call of the Wind’. But in fact his output was vast. He wrote forty books in as many years from his birth in San Francisco in 1876 to his suicide in 1916. His writings drew largely on his own life, which was curious and full of incident.
The Bodley Head contains a representative selection from London’s work, together with a critical and biographical introduction.
