Scarce map of Constantinople, from the English edition of Lechevalier’s Voyage de la Propontide et du Pont-Euxin.

Many French publications used the surveys of Kauffer, an engineer in the service of the Turks. Jean-Baptiste Le Chevalier (1752-1836) was an assistant to the French ambassador Choiseul-Gouffier in the 1780s.

The map was originally published in Paris in 1786.
